We are Alive

Dear Blog,

I'm sorry you have been neglected over the past couple of months. Truth is though, nothing too exciting has been happening around here. We've just been working and repeating the daily grind. We are still alive though, so no worries. Life is good, and we are happily settling into our life and home in Willard.

A couple things I want to remember:  This winter was crazy full of snow! Last year in Pleasant Grove it was a very weak sauce winter. We never had to by a snow shovel, there was no need for it. I also appreciated the easy commuting all winter. This year was a lot different. Snow storm after storm. I swear it came feet at a time!

I'm glad I didn't have to drive to work every day in it. My nice warm office at home suited me just fine. I did brave the cold though, and shoveled our driveway nearly everyday. Don't worry, I managed to snap a picture of the one time Lynn shoveled the driveway.

Sloped driveways are not the greatest thing in winter we have realized, especially when it is icy. The truck took many slides down it, as well as Lynn and me multiple times.

Next, we finally got callings in our ward. At the first part of January Lynn & I got called to be Primary teachers of the CTR 4 class. We were excited to serve again together. Since we were nursery leaders in our last ward, we thought this would be no problem.

Well, our Class is a bit of a hand-full. We have ten 4 year olds, 8 of which are boys,  and usually have 8 there each Sunday. Sometimes I wish I could encourage them to stay home :)  We talk a lot about Spiderman, bikes, and Ninja Turtles. 45 minutes is also a long time to be in class and contain children during the 1-2pm hour when they are tired and hungry. We have fun though.

Lynn broke a church record I think, and only made it 2 weeks in that calling.  They re-organized our YM presidency, and Lynn is now the 2nd counselor! He still gets to tend little boys, they are just 12 this time. He says they aren't much different than my 4 year olds, still got a lot of crazy in them. He really is enjoying that, and is a good fit with the youth.

I also got another calling to be the ward chorister. Joy, right? Everyone gets to stare at me while I wave my arm around in Sacrament meeting. Oh well, someone has to do it.

February was a good month.  We did get to take a little weekend vacation to St. George with my parents to get away from the snow. St. George was beautiful! Lynn took his bike and did a 100-mile ride solo. He does crazy things like that sometimes, and although I shake my head at him, I am still proud of him.

We also got to go to the St. George parade of homes, which is always fun to go and look at beautifully built and decorated homes. It makes you want to start a bunch of projects in your own house though.

I have been playing around with my new camera a little bit. These are just a couple photos of my pretty V-Day roses Lynny got me.

  1. :) I am glad you are still alive and well! And being ward chorister is payback for the days you made me do it back at the farm and laughed at me when I couldn't figure out how to keep the beat with a pick-up.
