The Yard

You may have realized it has been pretty quiet here on the ol' blog. But there is good reason for that. We have been working our tails off trying to get a yard in before winter. We might have been a little over our heads.

Every night after work the two of us are outside working until it is dark and we are tired. Each weekend family and friends are here helping us in the current task on hand. Scraping, rock picking, leveling, rock picking, sprinkler system, rock picking, sod, did I mention rock picking yet?

We are so close to being done and reaching our goal. I will post pics when we have a finished project! Thanks so much to everyone who has sacrificed their time and muscles to come and help us out. We couldn't be doing it without you!

October 1 - Move In, No Yard

October 16 - Weeds gone, dirt moving

October 19 - Moving more dirt, taking shape

October 29 - Rock Walls

November 3 - Trenching

November 7 - Sprinklers

November 10 - The snowy day we chose to lay sod
Scraping all the snow away
Why yes, the neighbors do have snow filled yards. But not us, we have Green Grass!
(Danica, now you don't have to wonder where Aliyah learned not to smile for pictures! :)

And yes, that is a whole 'nother semi-load of sod still to be laid.
