Big Changes

Well for those who haven't heard yet, we are making big changes in our lives!  I put the picture up front because well, no we are not having a child (I'm sorry for all of you who had your hopes up that this is what it was going to be).  We are well into the process of working towards being home owners. Yes, I in fact realized that the previous sentence is somewhat redundant within itself but for those that have bought a house you may remember thinking you've read the same sentence multiple times on housing contracts, so I wanted to give the rest of you the chance to see how it feels.

For just over a year I have been working for a company based out of Brigham City.  I have done a little of everything from laying pipe to installing large valve vaults, all while I have been employed as a driver.  Well, for the stranger in Denmark creeping our blog who doesn't know me, and any others who didn't know, I don't really want to drive truck for a living.  I do have my commercial drivers licence and I have put a number of hours in behind the wheel of multiple big rigs from cement truck to hay trucks.  I have enjoyed some bits of all of them but it was not my life dream.  My licence was a means to an end for me. With the 'in' that my CDL created for me, and some hard work over the past year I had an opportunity presented to me to be an estimator in the office for the same company I work for.  When the opportunity came I jumped as high and as fast as I could saying "pick me, pick me" (and yes I was probably every bit as excited as the kid that gets picked first for the team he wanted).  This all happened back over a month ago;  so I got the job and for the most part have loved every minute of it since except one aspect, The Commute.

All of this at the same time presented us the opportunity to relocate to the Brigham City area.  So at the same time that we were finalizing a sort of job change for me, we began to look at houses.  After a few weeks and multiple trips from Pleasant Grove to Brigham, many for me, we found a house that we wanted.  This really actually wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been, Becky and I sometimes have different tastes.  Following some waiting and more waiting and me driving everyone that knows me nuts we found out we got the house now we are waiting again.

Ok. Well that is the big news.
